Financial assistance for workers relocating for short-term agricultural work

You could be eligible for up to $6,000 by taking up work in agriculture.

This financial assistance is to help with the costs of travel and accommodation when you relocate to take up short-term agricultural work.

This Federal Government 'Relocation Assistance' is available from 1 November 2020 to 31 December 2021.

You may be eligible to receive up to:

  • $6,000 if you are an Australian worker
  • $2,000 if you are a visa holder with the right to work in Australia.

Financial assistance for students relocating to regional SA

Students may be eligible for financial assistance to help with the costs of travel and accommodation when relocating for work in regional South Australia.

Applications for this State Government 'Regional Jobs Support and Incentive Program for Students' is open until 30 April 2021.

You may be eligible to receive up to $2,000 if you:

  • are 16 years and over and are a current student (or have undertaken study in 2020)
  • have commenced work in an eligible region on or after 25 November 2020.

The amount you will be eligible for will depend on the region you find a job.
